Wood: Silver birch burr (Betula pendula).
Origin: Scotland, sourced locally.
Finish: Cyanoacrylate with mid polish.
Height: 125mm.
Other: Silver birch burrcabochon ‘stone’ (Betula pendula) with high polish cyanoacrylate finish. Hallmarked Sterling silver inset band and setting.
This is an unusually large and regularly patterned grain example of birch burr; in fact the only one which I have found so far; after much roaming in birch woodland.
